Step outside even if briefly
Similarities reinforce our limited self-identities.
We close ourselves within our comfort zones.
We hold on to old habits seeking some safety.
But growth happens when we step outside...
When we are able to zoom out, off the familiar
When we break out of judging others too fast.
When we stop the automatic controlled by fear.
When we can truly recognize ourselves in others.
Similarities keep us isolated in our own self-image.
The old self acts as if "the other" is a threat to us,
We create worlds apart and walled ourselves off.
If you want self-growth, step outside even if briefly
