You grew up afraid of the dark, monsters, and masks

You close your eyes and face your fears

only to become afraid of

tests, talk about what's troubling you and not fitting in,

you toughen up and conquer these fears

until you notice you are afraid of

failure, rejection, and loosing those you love

you struggle and find strategies to overcome even those

until you realize that none of your fears actually stopped you.

You have only really been afraid of the unknown and the only true unknown in your life is who you are.
